The Sikh temple in Dubai was inundated with requests from the public to be vaccinated in a three-day drive against Covid-19.

On Monday, Guru Nanak Darbar in Jebel Ali hosted an event to vaccinate 5,000 adults of all ages and backgrounds.

Gurudwara's chairman, Surender Singh Kandhari, said their team noticed people were having difficulty in getting immunised with vaccines.

He added many front-line medical workers who failed to get vaccinated elsewhere due to shortages and new age restrictions were lining up for shots Monday in the temple’s parking garage.

“This is the only way we can serve the community,” he quoted.
