Another Attempt to Target Minorities In Pakistan: Demolition of Sikh Gurudwara Ahead of Prakash Purb Next Month.

In an another major attempt to hurt the religious sentiments & targeting Sikh minorities, authorities demolishes Gurdwara Chubcha Sahib in Lahore, Punjab Province of Pakistan. Gurudwara building was very old & local Sikh community faith was attached to it. It was demolished by a team of district authorities citing safety concerns in the locality. As per the Pak authorities, building was frail since long & needs repair works. Locals Sikh people, however, are anguish over this move of authorities. As per them this demolition is a direct attack on their faith & Sikh minorities in Pakistan.
The incident took place just before the Sikh’s major celebration of ‘Prakash Purb’ next month leading to the agitation within the local Sikh community.
The country has been repeatedly slammed by the international community for not safeguarding the interests of its minorities. Temples and Gurudwara in Pakistan are often the targets of mob violence and local authorities. In recent years, there has been a surge in attacks on places of worship of religious minorities in Pakistan.
